Apple Podcasts Delegated Delivery feature for creator

It is a new feature for the content creators in which creator can manage their podcasts, upload and distribute their premium episodes to Apple Podcasts on their behalf. Apple Podcast Delegated Delivery will launch this fall.

Once authorized, creators can use the hosting provider dashboard to publish new premium and free episodes. It also has the ability to schedule the release of early access, bonus, exclusive and ad-free content using FLAC, WAV and MP3 files.

This feature also reduces the operational tasks for podcast subscriptions. So that creators can create more podcasts and promote their work. It also allows creators to submit free and premium shows, making it even easier to add new shows to the Apple Podcasts directory through participating hosting providers.

All Subscriptions and shows will be reviewed by Apple Podcasts before they are available to listeners to ensure they meet their content guideline

All creators can use Delegated Delivery feature through Apple Podcasts Connect at no additional cost. You can also enable multiple hosting providers to upload your new episodes with Delegated Delivery.

You can use Delegated Delivery without a membership to the Apple Podcasts Program to enable hosting providers to publish your free shows. Membership is required when you want to publish Premium Episodes and Shows.

Apple Podcasts Storage clean-up features

Apple launched Podcast’s storage clean-up feature with the launch of iPadOS 15.5, iOS 15.5, and macOS 12.4. This feature is launched to free up your iPhone storage easily.

When you download podcasts and had automatically downloads enabled and you follow some channels then whenever they publish any podcasts it will automatically download and take up your storage space. But now storage clean-up features are released and you can turn off automatic downloads or select your download preferences.

Here is the step by step on how to turn off your automatically download podcasts.

How to turn off auto download podcast in iPhone/iPad

1. Open Setting app and navigate to Podcasts.

2. Click on Automatically Downloaded.

3. It shows a list of options, select “Off”. To stop automatically downloads.

Now your automatically download podcasts is off and it won’t take up your iPhone/iPad storage. You can also use this setting for your MAC.

You can also select other options to Download like Latest Episode per Show, 2 Latest Episodes per Show, 5 Latest Episodes per Show, Last 25 Hours, Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days, Last 30 Days, or All New Episodes.

Podcast other important settings to storage clean up.

You can also remove played podcasts automatically to free up your storage. Go to the Settings app, open Podcasts and under Downloads, you can see “Remove Played Downloads” turn it on to remove played podcast.

The next setting is below the Downloads section you can see Automatically Downloads in this “Enable When Following” turn it off. This setting will stop automatically download when you following someone on podcast app.

Apple Podcasts Subscription Price

Apple introduces the annual plan option for creators to present annual subscription plans for their premium podcasts alongside their monthly options.

This will appear when a user Clicks on “Try Free” or “Subscribe” on a show or channel with subscription. Each premium podcast creator has different subscription plans, if you buy two or more creator plans you have to pay for each creator according to their plan price.

Note: Annual Subscription will now be selected as default.

Creators can now set up annual subscription price as they do for monthly subscriptions in Apple Podcasts connect.

New Storage features and annual subscription plan are rolling out with iPadOS15.5, iOS 15.5, and macOS 12.4. Delegated Delivery will release on supported hosting providers later this fall.
